CHILD SUPPORT FOR MONEY ADVISERS
Who the course is for:
Money Advisers, Financial Literacy trainers and Generalist
Advisers who wish to know more about the Child Support
regulations and how the changes from April 2002 affect clients
who are both new and existing cutomers of the Child Support
Agency, both as absent parents and as parents with care. No
prior knowledge of Child Support is required. This course will
be available from July 2002.

Aims:
- To explain the aims and objectives of the Child Support Agency and their regulations
- To familiarise trainees with the new Child Support regulations that came into force from April 2002 and how these affect clients
- To introduce trainees to the child Support maintenance calculations, under the new rules and the old
- To examine how and why things go wrong, and what advisers can do to help clients
Course Content:
- An overview of the Child Support Agency's aims and principles
- The old rules - how Child Support maintenance is calculated for existing customers
- The new rules - how Child Support maintenance is clculated for new customers
- Common problems with the CSA and how to deal with them - a discussion session in which common case scenarios are examined
