KEY EMPLOYMENT ISSUES FOR MONEY ADVISERS

Who the course is for: Advisers who want to develop a working knowledge of employment law as a useful aid to income maximisation and sustainability

Aims:

  • To have an understanding of what a debt client can do when there are related employment issues involved.
  • To be able to challenge unfair decisions taken by an employer

Course Content:

  • Employment Contracts - what should be in it?
  • Working Time Directive - what are the implications in the workplace
  • Dismissal - what are the employee's rights when a contract is terminated
  • Discrimination - principles of sex, race and disability discrimination

Pauline Upsall. Pauline is a solicitor at the Birmingham Settlement and a NACAB consultant in the Employment Specialist Support Unit. Pauline has a number of years experience advising on debt and employment issues within the voluntary sector. Pauline presents workshops on Employment Law for Birmingham City Council on the legal aspects of policies and procedures within the voluntary sector.
