DEBT COUNSELLING MODULES I & II
Who the course is for: A two day introductory course suitable for those who are
new to debt advice and/or for those for whom debt work is not a major part of the work.
Ideally the two modules should be done on consecutive days.

- To provide an introduction to money advice skills and an overview of the debt counselling process
- To develop participants' ability to assist those in debt in an effective, non judgemental way

- Causes and effects of debt
- Credit and its uses
- Challenging debts
- The 4 stage money advice process, including an in depth look at drafting financial statements
- Money Advice options

- Debt Counselling Handbook (11th Edition) and handouts
